InetGet() won't download...

Recommended Posts

Hi together,

Im currently creating a program that downloads a file from a server.

But i got one problem:

I'm using the InetGet() function.

The programm only downloads 400bytes and thinks the download is done.

The InetGetSize() gives me the correct filesize (1.6MB).

So if theres a other function i could use, or something i did wrong, please tell me!

By the way the InetGet() command looks like this:

InetGet("http://*****.ohost.de","file.exe",1,0)

Did you try to do it like in the help-file example?

; Advanced example - downloading in the background
InetGet("http://www.nowhere.com/somelargefile.exe", "test.exe", 1, 1)

While @InetGetActive
  TrayTip("Downloading", "Bytes = " & @InetGetBytesRead, 10, 16)
  Sleep(250)
Wend

MsgBox(0, "Bytes read", @InetGetBytesRead)

And if a file is created sized only 400 bytes... open it with a text-editor and see if it contains an error reply from the server :P...

And if you were to download that to an HTM file you will probably find that you are getting the default HTML file for that site. You don't have the FilePath/Name in the source. To download a file you MUST provide the fully qualified path to the file to be downloaded.
