Hide & Show listviews

Hi!

I need a faster way to do the following:

#include <GUIListview.au3>

$hWnd = GUICreate("Test", 600, 400)

$button1 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Listview 1", 5, 10)
$button2 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Listview 2", 5, 40)

$listview2 = _GUICtrlListView_Create($hWnd, "This|Is|The|Second|List", 75, 10, 500, 380)
WinSetState($listview2, "", @SW_HIDE)
$listview1 = _GUICtrlListView_Create($hWnd, "This|Is|The|First|List", 75, 10, 500, 380)

GUISetState()

Do
    $msg = GUIGetMsg()

    If $msg = $button1 Then
        WinSetState($listview2, "", @SW_HIDE)
        WinSetState($listview1, "", @SW_SHOW)
    ElseIf $msg = $button2 Then
        WinSetState($listview1, "", @SW_HIDE)
        WinSetState($listview2, "", @SW_SHOW)
    EndIf

Until $msg = -3

As you could see if you clicked the buttons, it's a visible paus when the first listview is being hidden and the second is being shown.

Anyone has an idea?

I have an idea. Try using the AutoIt GuI commands to do what you need.

;
#include <GUIListview.au3>

$hWnd = GUICreate("Test", 600, 400)

$button1 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Listview 1", 5, 10)
$button2 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Listview 2", 5, 40)

$listview2 = GUICtrlCreateListview("This|Is|The|Second|List", 75, 10, 500, 380)
GUICtrlSetState($listview2, @SW_HIDE)
$listview1 = GUICtrlCreateListview("This|Is|The|First|List", 75, 10, 500, 380)

GUISetState()

Do
    $msg = GUIGetMsg()

    If $msg = $button1 Then
        GUICtrlSetState($listview2, @SW_HIDE)
        GUICtrlSetState($listview1, @SW_SHOW)
    ElseIf $msg = $button2 Then
        GUICtrlSetState($listview1, @SW_HIDE)
        GUICtrlSetState($listview2, @SW_SHOW)
    EndIf

Until $msg = -3
;

EDIT: Ooops. I just realized who the OP was. My bad.

monoceres,

This is a fair bit faster on my machine. I have kept one of the lists permanently in place and just overlaid the other when needed. Your code is running lists 3 & 4 while mine is running lists 1 & 2:

#include <GUIListview.au3>

$hWnd = GUICreate("Test", 600, 400)

$button1 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Listview 1", 5, 10)
$button2 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Listview 2", 5, 40)

$listview1 = _GUICtrlListView_Create($hWnd, "This|Is|The|First|List", 75, 10, 500, 380)
$listview2 = _GUICtrlListView_Create($hWnd, "This|Is|The|Second|List", 75, 10, 500, 380)
WinSetState($listview2, "", @SW_HIDE)

$listview4 = _GUICtrlListView_Create($hWnd, "This|Is|The|Fourth|List", 75, 100, 500, 380)
WinSetState($listview2, "", @SW_HIDE)
$listview3 = _GUICtrlListView_Create($hWnd, "This|Is|The|Third|List", 75, 100, 500, 380)

GUISetState()

Do
    $msg = GUIGetMsg()

    If $msg = $button1 Then
        WinSetState($listview2, "", @SW_HIDE)
       ;WinSetState($listview1, "", @SW_SHOW)

        WinSetState($listview4, "", @SW_HIDE)
        WinSetState($listview3, "", @SW_SHOW)

    ElseIf $msg = $button2 Then
       ;WinSetState($listview1, "", @SW_HIDE)
        WinSetState($listview2, "", @SW_SHOW)

        WinSetState($listview3, "", @SW_HIDE)
        WinSetState($listview4, "", @SW_SHOW)

    EndIf

Until $msg = -3

Any use?

Try following code.

#include <GUIListview.au3>
#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>

$hWnd = GUICreate("Test", 600, 400)

$button1 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Listview 1", 5, 10)
$button2 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Listview 2", 5, 40)

$listview2 = GUICtrlCreateListview("This|Is|The|Second|List", 75, 10, 500, 380)
GUICtrlSetState($listview2, $GUI_HIDE)
$listview1 = GUICtrlCreateListview("This|Is|The|First|List", 75, 10, 500, 380)

GUISetState()

Do
    $msg = GUIGetMsg()

    If $msg = $button1 Then
        GUICtrlSetState($listview2, $GUI_HIDE)
        GUICtrlSetState($listview1, $GUI_SHOW)
    ElseIf $msg = $button2 Then
        GUICtrlSetState($listview1, $GUI_HIDE)
        GUICtrlSetState($listview2, $GUI_SHOW)
    EndIf

Until $msg = -3

What it can be difficult, or I do not understand your question correctly?

Thanks for the response.

George & Yashied, there's a reason I use the UDF, I want the increased functionality.

Melba23, still too slow if you compare it to the pure autoit version.

Ok, I feel ashamed.

I didn't realize I could create the listview as a regular GUICtrlCreateListview() control and then just use ControlGetHandle() to use it with the UDF.

So stupid.
