Edit registry of drive connected via USB?

Recommended Posts

Is there a way to read/update the registry of a secondary drive attached to a PC via USB, IDE or SATA?

The secondary drive would be taken from another PC and have a full installation of Windows XP/Vista on it. I want to check a few values and update them if they are not correct. This would be for recovering from damage done by malware, such as when the userinit.exe login program is changed in the registry.

I am familiar with using AutoIt to do this in the registry of the drive that was used to boot the PC, but not the secondary drive.

Thank you.
