running an excutable command line

Recommended Posts

I would like to have a script to run setup.exe /x commad line and also will give the user a prompt indicating the uninstall was successful when it is done.

Can we do this using vbs and autoit.

Thanks.

Run command for the first bit will work...

For part 2: ProcessWaitClose

So you get something like:

$PID = Run ("Setup.exe /x")
ProcessWaitActive ($PID)
ProcessWaitClose ($PID)
MsgBox (48, "Complete", "Setup.exe is complete")

If you need it to show success or not, then ProcessWaitClose does give info on how the process closed, but you'll have to test that out....

So is this a vbs script.

Strange you are asking this. This means you both do not know AutoIt3 and VBS.

.. but this is an AutoIt3Script.

I think you might want to consider changing your display name.

Why on earth would anyone post a VBS solution on the AutoIt forum when it can be done by using only AutoIt?

Question about decompiling code? Read the decompiling FAQ and don't bother posting the question in the forums.

Be sure to read and follow the forum rules. -AKA the AutoIt Reading and Comprehension Skills test.***

The PCRE (Regular Expression) ToolKit for AutoIT - (Updated Oct 20, 2011 ver:3.0.1.13) - Please update your current version before filing any bug reports. The installer now includes both 32 and 64 bit versions. No change in version number.
