Getting a variables from two or more autoit scripts

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

So what I want to do is run multiple autoit scripts compiled as .exes and have them send variables to each other.

eg. script 1 sends the value of $x to script 2

OR

script 2 looks at script 1's memory and gets the value of $x for itself.

Can anyone point me to a function or help me get started?

Thanks

Negative1,

Look at ChrisL's script here. I have used it with success.

You can do it four ways:

#1 Do it all in one script

#2 Make one script write to an .ini file or filewritetoarray

#3 Do it all in one script

#4 Do what Melba23 tells you ^_^

Or

- main calls child via run() + command line parameter

- child reads parameter via $CmdLine[0], does calculation and writes to console

- main reads result via stdout

Example from help-file:

$foo = Run(@ComSpec & " /c dir foo.bar", @SystemDir, @SW_HIDE, $STDERR_CHILD + $STDOUT_CHILD)

I kind of like the .ini file idea i'll keep that as plan B ;)

I need to use multiple scripts as the idea is to use up all processors / cores during some heavy maths!
