Aut2Exe icon problem

Recommended Posts

No, maybe you didn't understand me.

I've compiled my script with Aut2Exe program (C:\Program Files\AutoIt3\Aut2Exe\Aut2exe.exe).

In the "Custom Icon" filed I've choosed my icon and then compiled my script. But the compiled script doesn't have my icon...

have you messed around with the registry?

by setting the default icon for .exe files, you in effect override any input icons.

I can't give you the details as i'm in school, and have no registry access, but search classes root for ".exe" and then search again for the default value under that, look for defaulticon, and if its not blank, then blank it.

something like:

MsgBox (0, "Test", RegRead ("HKCR\" & RegRead ("HKCR\.exe", "") & "\DefaultIcon", ""))

(Code has not been tested, so it might need editing.)

FSoft,

No, it is a Vista "feature"! Google "refresh Vista icon cache" and you will find lots of hits. Basically the Vista OS 'remembers' icons and sometimes does not refresh the cache as quickly as you would like.
