Coding guidelines

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone has ever produced any coding standards/guidelines for AutoIt? For example, I tend to use Hungarian notation for variables and I see a lot of other people doing the same but has this ever been written down as a guideline/standard/best practice?

WideBoyDixon,

The nearest I have ever found to an AutoIt coding standard has been Gary Frost's User Defined Functions Standards at http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/udfs/UDF_Standards.htm. If it is good enough for the UDF's - it is good enough for my efforts at coding!

I touched on an Unofficial "Format" a little in Welcome to Autoit 1-2-3

http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.ph...mp;showfile=100

But not Variable names. However, there is a lesson by LxP and an extension of that work by Brett here if the forums. I don't know if either touched on Var's at all.

I touched on a "Naming Convention" with variables in section 4.2 of the tutorial... ^_^
