Text Location

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I am a new member. Could you please let me know how to get the location of a text in a UI element. Like a button location, when i mention its text.

Thanks in advance

Suku

Welcome to the forums! ^_^

Then, your question.

You could take a look in the autoit installation folder (Default: C:\Program Files\AutoIt3\) and search for: Au3Info.exe.

Mayby that can help you out.

Hello,

Thanks for the quick reply AlmarM. Ok, i will explain the problem in a bit more detail. I have a UI maybe activex kinda control, which the Au3Info.exe recognises as Internet_Explorer_Server, but there are some links, buttons inside that are not recognised by the tool. So i was thinking, if i have a text location kinda finder, i could get the link by specifying that.

The UI control that i am talking about, has huge list on the left part, and it searches as and when you enter a keystroke. So, if i could send in keystrokes and if i can find that text location, my job is done ;)
