How to get the state of the Control by using its Handle (not ID)?

Recommended Posts

If it's a standard control, you can use one of the _GUICtrlXXX_GetState UDF functions, otherwise use ControlCommand...IsVisible/IsEnabled/IsChecked.

Control can be anything, I do not know in advance what will be. Now do it like this.

$ID = _WinAPI_GetDlgCtrlID($hControl)
$iState = GUICtrlGetState($ID)oÝ÷ Ûú®¢×¶èm¦åË¥z-Âäle

It probably will not work, GUICtrlGetState() works with controls created via GUICtrlCreate*.

And where from the $hControl? You also can try and use ControlCommand with the handle:

#include <GuiConstants.au3>
#include <GuiEdit.au3>

$GUI = GUICreate("Test Script", 300, 200)

$hEdit = _GUICtrlEdit_Create($GUI, "data", 20, 40, 200, 120)

ControlDisable($hEdit, "", "")
ConsoleWrite("IsEnabled: " & ControlCommand($hEdit, "", "", "IsEnabled"))

GUISetState(@SW_SHOW, $GUI)

While 1
    Switch GUIGetMsg()
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
    EndSwitch
WEnd
Yes, MrCreatOR, you're right. GUICtrlGetState() works only with the controls, which created using GUICtrlCreate*(). ControlCommand() works with any controls. Thanks.
