cyanidemonkey Posted May 25, 2009 Share Posted May 25, 2009 HI, just a qwick question. how come when I run DriveGetSerial.au3 i get a different result to when I use: Start>Run>Cmd>VOL C: The Disc label is the same as running DriveGetLabel.au3, but serial different. Inverted Posted May 25, 2009 Share Posted May 25, 2009 (edited) Simple, the volume serial number isn't the drive serial number. I *think* the volume serial number is the so-called partition serial/ID and it's software-made when you create a new partition. The drive's serial/hardware ID is truly hardware dependent and unique.
