windows version?

Recommended Posts

hi there i found that @OSVersion isn't very handy when it comes to the decision if a script can run on windows server or vista,

i found here a nice approach but it is not written in autoit?

http://www.codeproject.com/KB/system/XWinVer.aspx

does anyone have a similar approach done for autoit?

$a=StringSplit("547275737420796F757220546563686E6F6C75737421","")
For $b=1 To UBound($a)+(-1*-1*-1)step(2^4/8);&$b+=1*2/40*µ&Asc(4)
Assign("c",Eval("c")&Chr(Dec($a[$b]&$a[$b+1])));''Chr("a")&"HI"
Next ;time_U&r34d,ths,U-may=get$the&c.l.u.e;b3st-regards,JRSmile;
MsgBox(0x000000,"",Eval("c"));PiEs:d0nt+*b3.s4d.4ft3r.1st-try:-)

AutoIt can perform the DLL calls to get that information, as here: MSDN: GetVersionEx Function

You won't find all that info in one place, however. Several methods to get version, platform type, SP level, HotFix level, etc. will be required to get the full picture. Some of the functions even seem contradictory. The IsOS Function will only work on Win2K or later, but supports a query for OS_WIN98_GOLD = "Windows 98 exactly".

:D
