trying to automate form submission

Hi guys. I just downloaded AutoIt and it seems like a great program but I have no idea where to begin. I did read through the help tutorials and I looked at some of the functions but I don't know which to use for my script. Maybe you guys can help me out? I'm trying to fill in a form with some text (that will never change) and then copy from a text file two, i guess, variables (?) and insert those into the form as well. And then of course submit it. That's basically it.

So I guess a really drawn out way to explain the basics is this:

fill in some forms in firefox

switch the window to notepad

highlight text on a line copy it

switch to firefox and paste it in the appropriate form

switch to notepad

highlight text on another part of the line

switch to firefox and paste it in the appropriate form

submit the form

go back to the original url

fill in some forms in firefox

switch to notepad

highlight text on the next line and copy it

switch to firefox....

And so on.

Can you guys advise me on how to get started with this?

Ok I ran that and it didn't do anything. So, is it just supposed to be more of a guideline script where you base your own on it?

edit- oh i think i see, you sort of plug this file into what you are writing to simply and expedite your scripts creation?

Why don't you read the text direkt from the file instead of c&p with notepad?
