Activating a window without using WinActivate()?

Recommended Posts

How can I activate their own (created by using GUICreate()) window. WinActivate() is slow and does not always work. I try the following:

  • _WinAPI_SetActiveWindow(), _WinAPI_SetForegroundWindow() - works, but not always
  • _WinAPI_AllowSetForegroundWindow() - the same as previous
  • _WinAPI_SwitchToThisWindow() - similar, in addition, this function is deprecated
Any other ideas.

Thanks.

What do you mean by doesn't always work?

I just tried this a couple of times and it always works..

CODE
$Form1 = GUICreate("My Window", 634, 434, -1, -1)

$myMainWinHandle = WinGetHandle ( "My Window" )

GUISetState(@SW_SHOW)

While 1

Sleep( 5000 )

WinActivate ( $myMainWinHandle )

WEnd

I modified your script and I get "Error" when the screensaver is activated.

$Form1 = GUICreate("My Window", 634, 434, -1, -1)
$myMainWinHandle = WinGetHandle ( "My Window" )
GUISetState(@SW_SHOW)

While 1
Sleep( 500 )
ConsoleWrite("*")
If WinActivate ( $myMainWinHandle ) <> 1 Then ConsoleWrite("Error" & @CRLF)
WEnd

Just add Opt("WinWaitDelay", 0) to your script and it should be good to go.
