Forbid a process?

Recommended Posts

I don't know of a way to block the program before it executes. You can close it right after it initiates using processclose. You could also find out the first thing it does. Try to intercept it with an API hook or something like that and get the process it came from. If the process is forbidden, close the process before it can execute.

I think I would like a bit more information about what you really want to do here before I provide you with any code examples. The code required to do this carries with it some nasty potential.

Stopping a process and then not allowing it to restart, hmmmmmmmm.

Can't you close the process and rename the executable ? There's a function to get the full path to the exe, there was a thread about that a couple of days ago.

And when I said dll, I meant you need to compile your own dll, you can't do it in autoit.

I wouldn't say it's elite or requires any dll at all but I might be wrong. You may want to google PsSetCreateProcessNotifyRoutine() for examples how to write code that can implement and use this function. It may require to download MS SDK library and a good understanding of C by the way.

Where can I download the dll?

Before we continue any further with this discussion maybe you can briefly explain why you want this?
