_ArrayDelete Set Total Elements

Recommended Posts

As everyone is aware the standard array id that contains the total array elements is 0.

My problem is when i modify an array using array delete, it doesn't update the $array[0] number to qual the total elements in the array.

Does anyone know a quick way to find the max elements and quickly update the total element number.

Thanks

That is not true when you are using a zero-based array such as is returned from StringRegExp(). Better to use Ubound()

You can't perform an operation on an array when you are looping through it because the For/To already contains the defined number of elements and that won't change until the loop is finished.

Example that won't work

Local $array[5] = [10, 20, 30, 40]
MsgBox(0, "", Ubound($array))
For $i = 1 To Ubound($array) -1
    If $array[$i] = 40 Then
        _ArrayDelete($array, $i)
        MsgBox(0, "", Ubound($array))
Next

Example that will work

Local $array[5] = [10, 20, 30, 40]
MsgBox(0, "", Ubound($array))
$aHold = $array
For $i = 1 To Ubound($aHold) -1
    If $aHold[$i] = 40 Then
        _ArrayDelete($array, $i)
        MsgBox(0, "", Ubound($array))
Next
