gcue
i know this has been a topic thats come up alot.. just wondering if theres a possibility of it ever happening?
AdmiralAlkex
I don't think it's gonna get much better than the _RemoteThreadX UDF before AutoIt get's native capabilities, but I wouldn't count on that anytime soon. Adding MT would require rewrites of alot of old code and the devs have said no for a long time, and I don't see any reason for them to change their minds. But who knows what we get in Au4? >_< (whenever that is coming) .Some of my scripts: ShiftER, Codec-Control, Resolution switcher for HTC ShiftSome of my UDFs: SDL UDF, SetDefaultDllDirectories, Converting GDI+ Bitmap/Image to SDL Surface
Richard Robertson
Multithreading would require a complete rewrite according the devs. It's not gonna be part of version 3.

Richard Robertson
Wasn't that what I said?I expanded slightly. You said a lot of code. It's more like a dump everything and start over. You will have to forgive my wording though. It was 2 in the morning.
AdmiralAlkex
I expanded slightly. You said a lot of code. It's more like a dump everything and start over. You will have to forgive my wording though. It was 2 in the morning. For me "everything" = "a lot", but it doesn't really matter. You will have to forgive my wording though. It was 9 in the morning. >_< @gcueWhy did you ask anyway? Multi-threading is often overrated and can lead to more problems then solutions if used improperly. Most of the time a redesign of a loop or two can give the appearance of multiple things happening if that's what you're after.
