SciTE help index not populating

 Share

Recommended Posts

I'm running AutoIt v3.2.12.1, SciTE 1.76.

This is a new problem that I didn't previously have.

When I put the cursor on a function name, and press F1, the help index should come up, selecting the entry for that function. But today, the index is blank--there are no functions listed.

What should I change to make the index populate?

Yes. I have a script open, with the cursor on a function name in that script.

Does it show anything in the Outputpane when you press F1?

Does your au3.properties still look correct?

Are you running a script with F5 at the time you press F1?

The output pane is blank.

I don't know how to check au3.properties.

There is no script running when I press F1.

On the Help screen, Contents and Search have info in them, it's just Index that's blank.

Ok, so the helpfile opens but isn't containing the right info in the index?

What happens when you open the helpfile manually?

Did this just start to happen or was anything changed on your pc?

The helpfile opens, and the Contents and Search tabs behave normally, but the index is blank. I've attached a JPG showing how it looks.

Same thing happens when I open the helpfile by clicking on AutoIt3Help.exe.

I just noticed this today, although I haven't opened the help file for a couple weeks. This is my work PC, so my IT department might have changed some things in the background without my knowing it.

Ok, but what happens when you open both AutoIt3.chm and AutoIt.chm ?

Same problem. Contents and Search are available, but Index is blank.

Strange, I have seen that the content isn't shown but never seen the index being empty.

Maybe you can download the zip file and check the helpfiles in there?
