also, the title is... inadequate! this ticket has nothing to do with SetError! SetError does, and always did, work as expected/documented.

Thanks for closing but I think the Resolution should be Fixed, not Duplicate, because as far as I've seen it was reported nowhere else in this tracker, and was indeed fixed. It's both for the tracker's record and for not discouraging those that submit issues.
