Hi I want to sent this to the modem, throw the web interface : http://192.168.01/dsl_auto.htm&todo=auto_pvc

How can I do it with auto it?

I can do it as a .bat file with this:

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Firefox.exe" "http://192.168.01/dsl_auto.htm&todo=auto_pvc"

saving it as file.bat, and runing it, it works, but i want to do it with autoit.

I tried with this code:

#include <Process.au3>

$rc = _RunDos("start "http://192.168.01/dsl_auto.htm&todo=auto_pvc")

bat it is not working, in the last line ,it canot see the "&todo=auto_pvc" , it works as if i had writen:

$rc = _RunDos("start "http://192.168.01/dsl_auto.htm")

Any ideas/help?

Thanks

Why not include the firefox part to make it comparable?

This works on my system. Don't know why you have added the exstra "

_RunDOS("@start http://www.google.com")

...but not if the modem/router that you are attempting to setup is not getting to the NET :-)

well, then: BAD LUCK ;)

BTW: The answer to the problem is in the first post. Why use start if Firefox works... ???

...but using tinyurl is a creative solution that I don't think that I've seen posted for the "special characters" issue and _RunDOS.

ShellExecute is a nice addition, but it does not always come to mind when I see posts like this - maybe someday it will.

Probably because ShellExecute is a resent add to the function (native) list.

Personally I have never liked the _RunDOS udf over Run( ...) and RunWait( ... ).

Adding a link to a 192.168.x.x address is not supposed to work outside your lan. Even if you use tinyurl ;)

I would think that it would - but cannot test right now. Tiny is just redirecting you to a local address within you lan.

However, the OP has a typo 192.168.0.1

...which Kurt pasted to the "tiny link" :-)

I was a bit fast on that on actually. Agree with herwasplato that you could make a redirect to the inside of your lan as long as yuo are surfing from the same lan. On the other hand, It does not make much sense as a link in a forum. ;)

Hey, come on THAT was the link he wanted to access. So, if it does not work, it's not my fault. Tinyurl did what I expected it to do ;):lmao:

I think that the OS ignores everything after the "&"

Here is a test script for you to try Uten:

#include <Process.au3> ;had to use $URL to make the code post well
$URL = "http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showpost.php?p=906654&postcount=61"
_RunDOS("@start " & $URL)oÝ÷ Ù.Â)e²Ø¥¶azÈy»z÷«ÊØbµêíꮢ֦¦«¨·¥·¦Ë"ë¢kayDK!Ê.Ùè¶Zjצ-¶éí춬Ë.y»ØZ±Ê&zê[yú+z'È~)ݶ©¢Ël#eÇÂíé,(®F«¢éݲaz»!j÷®±çl¢È¦¦Wv+B¢é]_wmêh²ÛajÒ!iا)ݶ¼+ºÚ"µÍÚ[ÛYH  ÒQK]LÉÝÂÒQPÜX]J   ][ÝÚËÝÝÝËÚ]Ú[ÛÛKÙÜ[ËÜÚÝÜÜÝÜNL
