I was wondering if there is a way to detect if a microphone or any hardware for that matter is plugged into the system using a autoit command.

I was wondering how do i go about click on the record button of windows XP sound recorder. The button has no text just an image of a red circle. I tried getting the handle of the button but was not successful. Plzz help!!!

SRY GUYS BUT THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS I EVEN TRIED RUNNING THE EXAMPLE BEEP SCRIPT FROM THE HELP FILE BY JUST COPY AND PASTING IT !! STILL CANT HEAR A BEEP I DO HEAR A BEEP WHEN A MSGBOX IS OPENED

Its just like this:: Beep(5,10000) nothing more!!!! i saved it as b.au3 and tried to run it!!! Cant hear anything!!!

Ok i just realised my mistake i had not deleted the first notepad.exe i had created !! Sry to bother u guys Thx Tvern peace out!!!

Actually i did it the first time!!! then i realised my mistake!!!!! But at the second try i named it a.au3

Hey everybody, I just came to know about Autoit yesterday, and i loved it. So, i start to read and try out msgbox first and it worked Then i about and try the Run("notepad.exe") but it seems to give me some problem. The script start running and the autoit icon appears in the taskbar but it keeps on closing and reappearing again but notepad doesnt start,and on the first try I tries the WinWaitActive command too so the taskbar got filled up with the AutoIt icons so i opened task manager and i saw the processes list filled with notepad.exe so i had to restart my computer to solve the problem.I tried all the other .exe in the system32 folder they all seem to work fine. Please help i am stuck at this point i want to solve this!!!!!!
