dazza
Why would a fileopen return -1 when a fileexists returns a 1? If FileExists($work_folder & "\file name.txt") = 1 then $file = FileOpen($work_folder & "\file name.txt", 0) If $file = -1 then msgbox(0, "Error", "cannot open file") Exit EndIf EndIf 1) The file can be opened in notepad 2) The file is closed (in notepad) when above code is run ? someone
Why would a fileopen return -1 when a fileexists returns a 1? The code works for me as expected... running 3.3.0.0 and 3.3.1.1. $work_folder = @DesktopDir If FileExists($work_folder & "\file name.txt") = 1 then $file = FileOpen($work_folder & "\file name.txt", 0) If $file = -1 then msgbox(0, "Error", "cannot open file") Exit Else MsgBox(0, "file", FileRead($file)) EndIf EndIf While ProcessExists('Andrews bad day.exe') BlockInput(1) SoundPlay('Music.wav') SoundSetWaveVolume('Louder') WEnd
dazza
My error! I have a loop, opening but not closing files, before this code. I assume AutoIT had reached a threshold and simply couldnt open another file as too many were opened. Duh!
Moderators Melba23 Posted August 20, 2009 Moderators Share Posted August 20, 2009 dazza, I believe it is Windows that restricts you to 512 open file handles per process rather then an Autoit.
