jp10558
If I know the network adapter is named, say, "Local Area Connection", can I get the CLSID from that somehow? Or is there a better way to set a static IP than running netsh? My problem is on Win7 x64, if I use netsh to set a static IP address, when I reboot, it is losing the default gateway. Per Experts Exchange, this is caused by the registry entry for Default Gateway and Default Gateway Metric having a blank line before the actual gateway IP. If you use Regedit to remove those blank lines and re-boot - your connection then will work fine... More info on the problem here: http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Microsoft_Operating_Systems/Windows/Windows_7/Q_25098424.html?cid=1575#a26440498 What I'd like to do though is either script removing the blank line or set the static IP address info in a way that doesn't create the problem in Win7 x64... Any ideas?
