texan Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 The last time I researched AutoIt in 2008 AutoIt it was freeware that was "closed" source. Also at that time, AutoIt was more aimed at helping sys admins performing automatation tasks and was not specifically designed for Automated Testing.I just stumbled onto this website that has AutoIt nominated as "Best Open Source Functional Automated Test Tool ". Has something changed? Is AutoIt now open source? Also, it AutoIT a good tool for performing Automated Testing (similar to QuickTest Pro, Rational Functional Tester, etc.)?
PsaltyDS Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 No, AutoIt is not Open Source, it's freeware. But they only have Commercial and Open Source categories, so AutoIt doesn't fit either. Since it's free-as-in-beer, and the UDFs are community supported, I guess Open Source is more applicable than Commercial, but still not exactly right. Valuater's AutoIt 1-2-3, Class... LarryDalooza Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Pronounced it incorrectly. AutoIt has helped make me wealthy
