any tray items i made look like thye were checked when i press them. Press one more time and check goes away. Is this normal ? I mean its not toggle or anything, its just regular click tray item.

Opt("TrayOnEventMode",1)
Opt("TrayMenuMode",1)
OnAutoItExitRegister("Backup")
;Tray items
TrayCreateItem("Quick hosts Editor")
TrayItemSetOnEvent(-1,"Hosts") ;function name

It would be cool if i could replace this check with an icon or something.

dirty,

Look at Opt("TraymenuMode") - you will probably want to add 2 to the value you have.

As to icons in traymenus, I think you have to use Holger's ModernMenu UDF to do that.
