Ext. js and control ID's

I'm new to autoIT and am trying to automate some web app testing. The app uses a lot of ext. js. The info tool doesn't tell anything about control ID, class, etc.. It's the same for everything in the frame. Using firebug I can see "node name" or <input ID>, could I use that? How? Also when using a command like "_IEFormElementCheckboxSelect" do I have to start the command with something else like "$oForm = " first. If so why?
