how to switch caret back to vertcal line, it's horizontal

Hello,

I'm wondering how to switch the caret in Scite back to the normal vertical blinking line.

It's now a horizontal blinking line, and I cannot seem to find any resource that talks about how to switch between

horizontal and vertical caret types.

I must have hit a key combination somehow, and I don't know how to switch it back.

Use the Insert key on your keyboard, this toggles the editor to overwrite, or, insert, new text.

You bet. Note that most, probably all (windows based anyway..), editors (text or word processor) behave like this.
