grasshopper3
I have a script that uses hotkeys; is there a way to check to make sure that my script's hotkey combinations are NOT already in use by another program or script? Thanks
Moderators Melba23 Posted January 17, 2011 Moderators Share Posted January 17, 2011 grasshopper3,If a HotKey has already been registered by another running app or script, Windows will not allow it to be reregistered by your script and HotKeySet will return 0. Now all you have to do is keep asking the user to choose another key combination until you get one that works. Or you could could look at using Accelerator keys which only work in the script in which they are set by GUISetAccelerators - however you do need a visible GUI for them to function.
