Ejoc Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 So I put this together to make applying for jobs alittle faster. I have some generic cover letters where I mostly update the company info and job title, so I made a little script that I just enter the information into and it places the new coverletter with the company information into the clipboard so I can paste it into an email. An example cover letter(just to show the tags): Me My contact info <DATE> <COMPANY ADDRESS> <HR CONTACT>: I want the <JOB TITLE> postion you have at <COMPANY NAME> Thank you, Me Result: Me My contact info June 13, 2005 AutoIt 1234 Overthere RD The, Internet To Whom It May Concern: I want the Dish Washer postion you have at AutoIt Thank you, MeAutoCover.au3 Start -> Programs -> AutoIt v3 -> AutoIt Help File -> Index -> (The Function you are asking about)----- Links -----DllStruct UDFsRSA Crypto UDFs
blindwig Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 cool program, but I wouldn't recommend using it. A cover letter shouldn't be generic, it should be the summary that bridges your resume to the job descsription, and should be taylored for each job. It should be flashy and quickly get the readers attention, instead of being a form letter. Just my 2 cents...
