Spy says No Control ID

How do I ControlSend when spy gives me no Control ID to work with? a blank produces an error and i haven't tried putting junk values in yet.

You have to be creative. If the controls aren't standard, you have to rely on other methods - location of controls in windows, changing windows titles, pixel colors, using visible text cues, screen ocr, parsing log files, etc. Sometimes you're even fortunate enough to be able to use a different tool, one more ameneable to automation. Posting more detail about the app and what it does / is supposed to do might get you responses from those who have used apps that provide equivalent functionality.
