EDIT: yes, the problem obviously relies in the wrong rendering of the alpha channel in PNG images. I wonder if it's some kind of limitation.

about using png with semi transparen there are many examples on the forum.. there is the setbitmap function... but that is with png... if you want to take a look

Maybe some expert will help on this... but they dont show up here..
