Reading Exported Registry file

I do not know if anyone had this problem.

I exported the registry key into a reg file and attempt to read it into a string variable with AutoIt.

The size of the file is 150Kb and all the string contains is the three characters:

ÿþW

The idea was to check if the export would contain the KBNNNNNN update number by just matching the number, to make sure that the current PC has the Windows Update installed.

Any help?

Corrected by using /a option, instead of /e, when exporting the file with regedit.exe
