For me to get a GUI to run as a service, I have had to use the free ms utility, srvany.exe. You run the service with srvany.exe and then in the registry you point the service you create to you compiled script. Instructions should be available on the Microsoft site to set this up.

The GUI program is not the service.. it is a means of running the function and passing the parameters to that function.
