Delay a function without stopping the rest of the script.

I have a script that records information. A certain time after this information is recorded, I want that information displayed. This would easily be feasible with a simple Sleep() command, but here is the problem. Between the information being recorded and being displayed, more information may need to be recorded. If I used a Sleep() command, that information would not be recorded simply because the entire script has been paused by the Sleep() command.

Is there any way to wait a certain amount of time for something to happen without pausing the execution of the rest of the script?

NOTE: The recording process requires the use of a timer. Can I use a second timer at the same time one is already going?

You can use any number of TimerInit .. TimerDiff as you need.

What you need is invoke AdLibRegister to register a display function after the required delay. Don't forget to unregister the function from within itself, using AdlibUnRegister, since you need it to run only once after data recording.

If there is a possibility that a second data entry would launch another delay before the first gets processed, then the simple scheme above won't work and you need to setup a queue of running delays associated with the data to display for each of them. To do that, use a global array and a reasonably fine-grained AdLibRegister-ed function which will "often enough" poll the delay queue and display what's needed by the time it's needed.
