shx
I am trying to run the MySQL command processor to process some sql statements. If I open a dos command window and submit the following it works. "c:\Program Files\mysql\MySQL Server 5.1\bin\mysql.exe" -u root < "c:\sqldata\CreateUsersAndDatabases.sql" but I can't get it to work using either a shellexecute or a run. Thanks Steven
shx
Could the pipe char < be the problem?
Morthawt
With shellexecute you need to be sure you put parameters in the parameter area, every time I try and just use an entire thing to load up services.msc /s in one area it fails, but when I put the /s into the parameter area it is fine. You should check into that. Free and easy Autoit scripting video tutorials (plus more videos always coming!) General video tutorials, especially correct and safe TeamSpeak permissions tutorials. Rogue5099
Is this how you did ShellExecute? ShellExecute('c:Program FilesmysqlMySQL Server 5.1binmysql.exe', '-u root < "c:sqldataCreateUsersAndDatabases.sql"') My projects: Inventory / Mp3 Inventory, Computer Stats
shx
I tried it with the single and double quotes that you sow and it still does not work. The black dos window opens and something quickly scrolls and it closes.
BrewManNH
Try using something like this to prevent problems with spaces in program names. $Path = FileGetShortName("c:Program FilesmysqlMySQL Server 5.1binmysql.exe") Run($Path & ' -u root < "c:sqldataCreateUsersAndDatabases.sql"') If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. shx
thanks BrewManNH, but it didn't help.Because when I just run the part before the < it works.I think that I am starting the program, "c:Program FilesmysqlMySQL Server 5.1binmysql.exe" . Because when I just run the part before the < it works. the problem is the < of the file
BrewManNH
Couldn't you just use "' u "c:sqldataCreateUsersAndDatabases.sql"' instead of using the pipe "<"? shx
Thanks BrewManNHI didn't try it out yet but I think it needs the pipe character to accept an sql script.I'm also confused how you used single and double quotes.
