FireFox Proxy Settings

FireFox Proxy and how to change it on the fly without having to restart firefox, does anyone know how it's done? Also, how can I change the proxy settings scriptwise, like changing from "Use system proxy settings" to "Manual Proxy Settings". I can't figure out how to have firefox use the given proxy when using the manual proxy settings, in order to actually use it you need to restart firefox.

Edit: Nevermind, I see now that this shouldn't be done this way... "Use system proxy settings" option is all that should be used.
