Script for 2 windows to auto switch

Hi

Im trying to create a script that will auto switch from the 2 open windows. I have found the following script but nothing happens when I run it.

While 1 ;loop indefinitely

WinActivate("firefox","") ;give focus to firefox

Sleep(30000) ;sleep 30 seconds

WinActivate("excel","") ;give focus to excel

Sleep(30000) ;sleep 30 seconds

WEnd

Any ideas where am going wrong ?

WinActivate does what it should do in your script, it activates that window...

But I guess you want that window to be on top so here -->

WinSetOnTop("[CLASS:Notepad]", "", 0)
WinActivate("[CLASS:MozillaWindowClass]")
WinSetOnTop("[CLASS:MozillaWindowClass]", "", 1)
Sleep(3000)
WinSetOnTop("[CLASS:MozillaWindowClass]", "", 0)
WinActivate("[CLASS:Notepad]")
WinSetOnTop("[CLASS:Notepad]", "", 1)
Sleep(3000)

PS: Try to understand what is going on in a script that you just found before asking because there is always help file...

@rashriaz - search for WinTitleMatchMode in the Help file. Even if it doesn't help you now (although it probably will), it will for future endeavors..

thanks for your help guys, ive looked in the help file and made some progress.

the script is now opening firefox and excel but its not switching between the 2.

You do realize, I hope, that you're setting both windows on top in between the Sleep statements right? First Excel is set on top, then you activate Firefox, then you set Firefox on top, sleep 10 seconds, reset Firefox to be on top and then set Excel on top. Your logic flow is seriously flawed.

And, BTW, your WinSetOnTop has an invalid flag in it, there's no flag 10, it's either 1 or 0 which is probably why nothing is working. Try rereading the help file for WinSetOnTop.
