Hi there,

I looked in help and syntax for Break but that's for users...

These questions are so basic I don't even know how to ask! I know how to add "skips" using ;

But how to pause the task? And when I press F5 it starts from the beginning, but I would like to be able to run only sections.

Something like this:

MsgBox(0, "title", "I want to pause this before the next textbox shows up")
;How do I add some kind of "stop" or "break" before the next step?
MsgBox(0, "title", "I don't want this text box to show up because I want to use a break before.")
;How do I start the task from step 5 and not step 1?
MsgBox(0, "title", "I want to start the task from here and not the beginning")

Thanks

Look at If...Then or Switch/Select statements to determine which parts of your code to run, put your operations into functions and call them depending upon what you want to do. Pausing a script is possible, do a search of the forum for about a dozen different threads asking the same thing.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Hi Brewman,

I have looked and looked and looked but haven't found what I'm looking for. I probably don't know how to ask...but I'm doing my best.

;
is for commenting info that won't run

#comments-start
...
...
#comments-end
is for omiting script to be ran

F5 runs the script

Ctrl alt F5 runs from top

I'm doing my homework as much as I can!

So I have the syntax to ommit, comment and run from start.

I'm looking for syntax to pause and start from the line number, I am also looking for a way to execute a single line of code from the script.

What you're looking for isn't available from AutoIt, the closest you'll come to that is

Hi Brewman,

Thank you for the link! ;)

This is absolutely fabulous for beginers, I can run things line by line and see what happens in real time, a must for rookies like me!
