Exe with Personal icons

Recommended Posts

I have created script that uses $cmdline to call a determinate function.
Infact my scripts make different things from different $cmdLine.
Compiled script i create shortcut to EXE file inserting different suffix "%1"
in order to run determinate internal function.

For this reason I want also realize EXE compiled that has diferent internal icons
in order to have Shortcut icon for each function called.

Unfortunately program that compile permit me to add only one icon to EXE.
I have proved to edit EXE created using "ResHacker" and add new resource icon,
but when i save new EXE with new icons added, it is not executable, infact causes error.

I have readed on web how do and spoke of "wrapper" but i don't understand How i can do.
Can someone explain better how compile script to exe that have internal more icons
(not for systray icons) but the internal exe icons when i link to it.

Thanks

mercadantelaura,

You need to download and install the full SciTE4AutoIt3 package from here. Then you can add icons using the #AutoIt3Wrapper_Res_Icon_Add= directives - look in <Help - SciTE Help - Extra Utilities - AutoIt3Wrapper - Adding extra icons to the program resources> for more details - including an example script. :)

Ok done, Thanks.

I have an addiction question on this topic.

Using AutoIt3Wrapper and including in my script these icons

#AutoIt3Wrapper_Res_Icon_Add=C:Test01.ico

#AutoIt3Wrapper_Res_Icon_Add=C:Test02.ico

#AutoIt3Wrapper_Res_Icon_Add=C:Test03.ico

I have as default the AutoIT icon.

To have my personal icon as default i must EDIT "AutoIt3Wrapper.INI" and insert into field "Icon="

[Autoit]

aut2exe=

Icon=  .......My "Folder PathFile.ICO"

OutfileType=

Compression=

UseUpx=

In this mode for each my script i must go to "AutoIt3Wrapper.INI" file's folder, edit it and insert default ICO that i want for EXE and then insert into my script all my other icons that i want.

In addiction i have always inside of EXE other 3 Auto-IT icons that i don't want.

There'S some other more rapid method that permit me to do this also to not include default icons ?

Thanks

mercadantelaura,

If you want to profit from the additional tools that the full SciTE4AutoIt3 package brings, I suggest that you spend some time reading the SciTE Help file which gives you full details. ;)

If you look at teh directives available, you will find this one:

#AutoIt3Wrapper_Icon=                           ;Filename of the Ico file to use for the compiled exe
Put it in your script and you will set the default icon for the executable. :)
