Mic
Is it correct that if GUICtrlSetOnEvent(-1, .....) is used rather than GUICtrlSetOnEvent($iOKButton, .....) , that the -1 stops @GUI_CtrlId returning $iOKButton and instead returns a number? I was following the example: GUICtrlCreateLabel("Hello world! How are you?", 30, 10)Local $iOKButton = GUICtrlCreateButton("OK", 70, 50, 60)GUICtrlSetOnEvent($iOKButton, "OKButton") Func OKButton() ; Note: At this point @GUI_CtrlId would equal $iOKButton, ; and @GUI_WinHandle would equal $hMainGUI MsgBox(0, "GUI Event", "You selected OK!")EndFunc ;==>OKButton But in my code all the @GUI_CtrlIds are numbers .... so I looked at the GUI code auto-generated by ISN Auto Studio and it is all like: $cbT6vs = GUICtrlCreateCheckbox("[E]",673,272,34,32,768,-1) GUICtrlSetOnEvent(-1,"_setEnbldTrkVc") I realize that this might end up as an ISN Auto Studio question, but I wanted to confirm my understanding of the -1 thing first. tia,
BrewManNH
What exactly are you looking for? Because $iOKButton will contain a number, it's the control ID of the button you created. -1 just refers to the last created control, so in that code $cbT6vs = GUICtrlCreateCheckbox("[E]",673,272,34,32,768,-1) GUICtrlSetOnEvent(-1,"_setEnbldTrkVc") -1 equals the checkbox created just before it, and the control ID is saved in $cbT6vs. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Mic
I need to call a function with a parameter equalling the exact text "iOKButton" from within the $iOKButton click event handler. tia.
Moderators Melba23 Posted January 17, 2014 Moderators Share Posted January 17, 2014 Mic,You cannot use parameters with OnEvent mode - at least not without a fair amount of additional code. Why do you need the "exact text" of the variable containing the ControlID inside the handler? Perhaps if you explain that we can suggest another way to do things. Mic
k the gui is a multi-track audio mixer with buttons for tracks 1-24, low eq tracks 1-24, mid-eq tracks 1-24 etc. All track buttons go the same click event handler, all mid-eq buttons got to same click handler etc. All of this controlled by hotkeys and code since the mouse is off under AutoIt control manipulating the real audio app ...... when onClicktrack() is called I want to know that e.g. it is btnTrk1. tia. BrewManNH
You'll need to plan for that in creating your script, as it is now all you're going to get is the controlid of the control. You need to translate that to the button's text or variable name. Although I think that's a silly way to program what you're doing, as you don't need to know the text you just need to know which button/slider was actioned.
