Possible to create new List item without losing focus?

As topic says, im making a program which is showing all visible windows in a list control, and updating it every sec. But it is impossible to select an item to do somwthing, bacause it loses focus with every update. How can i make a list which do not lose focus?

Just some suggestions: WinSetOnTop? $WS_EX_TOPMOST?
