Senkai Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I am looking for a way to run a script from a flash drive on the various machines in our network that will look for and record computer names and licenses of at the very least their Windows OS and Office software. I found a compilation >here that I thought might work. Can I run AutoIT scripts from a flash drive, or do I need to install it on each machine i want to run the scripts on?
BrewManNH Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 A compiled script will run by itself with no other files needed other than what your script may read/write to. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from. Palestinian Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Open the help file and search by Index for the " @ " sign, the options you'll get should be enough for what you want the script to do, and as BrewManNH mentioned, a compiled script is a standalone software that doesn't require any additional resources.
