How do I update my version 2 autoit scripts to Version 3 ( SciTE is 3.4.1. ) Then get: please install Tortoise SVN Is it possible to update ver 2 to ver 3 as alluded to in video tutorials
Moderators Melba23 Posted May 28, 2014 Moderators Posted May 28, 2014 DSColo,First, welcome to the AutoIt forums. The SciTE menu item you mention is all about versioning your own scripts using Tortoise SVN (the versioning system we use for AutoIt itself) - it has nothing to do with the script content. And the SciTE version number has nothing to do with the AutoIt version number either. If you really do want to convert your scripts from AutoIt v2 to AutoIt v3 you are in for a long slog as the syntax has changed almost beyond recognition since those very early days. All of the functions will still exist (in some form or other) but the scripts will need a complete rewrite. Some of the longer-term forum members might be able to help, but given the time that has elapsed (v3 has been around for over 11 years) do not hold your breath. Why not post one of your v2 scripts (see here how to do it) so that people can see what is involved. Moderators Melba23 Posted May 28, 2014 Moderators Posted May 28, 2014 DSColo,Even if that utility were still available, I doubt that it would help much given the changes to AutoIt between then (early 2009 = v3.3.0.0) and now (v3.3.10.2). I still recommend posting one of the scripts - I have never really looked in any detail at v2 syntax and I would be interested to see how hard it would be to convert.
