I would like to use some of AutoIt functions as built in libraries in my c++ application.

Will they (or maybe already are) be developed? If so, when and where?

Check out AutoitX for certain exposed methods, though I think it was not really designed for c++

programmers, who presumably can access all this stuff directly.

While I am not an Autoit licensing expert, and defer to Jon or any of the other site admins, I think that you definitely want to read the license agreement before pursuing grabbing au3 source and implementing it in your own libs.
