cabrunco
Dear all, I am experimenting with the commMG.au3 library made available by Martin. I can successfully use the functions _CommSetPort and _CommSeendString to control simple devices linked to a computer. For example, here in our lab we have the device described in this manual: http://www.vici.com/support/tn/tn413.pdfFollowing the instructions in the manual and the functions that I mentioned, I can control the device. However, I tried to use the function _CommGetString to read data from the device and I get nothing. Using Hyperterminal I get the info. For example, if you check the manual on the link that I sent, if you type CP the hyperterminal window will display "The position is A", for example. I thought that _CommGetString could be used in a similar fashion. Any thoughts?Thank you!
jchd
Check that the line termination sequence used by your device (seems to be CR) matches what CommMG expects. Also, while browsing the manual of the device, I see that every line it sends starts with a NULL byte (0x00) and I wonder if this could be the cause of your issue. Perhaps you need to first wait to receive a Null, then use _CommGetString Edited May 27, 2015 by jchd This wonderful site allows debugging and testing regular expressions (many flavors available).
