No keyboard or mouse plugged in

I have a server without a mouse or keyboard installed trying to run an autoit script. It seems intermittingly fail to click buttons and such after I close the remote desktop session I use to access machine. Is there a requirement for autoit to have a mouse and keyboard installed?

I discovered that by using windows remote desktop I was locking the session each time I closed the remote desktop connection to the remote machine. Using ultraVNC solves this problem!
