aleph01
I need to write a script that will monitor TrackIt (trouble ticket software) and set an audible alarm when a new trouble ticket arrives. I have no idea how to do this or whether AutoIt is the right tool for the job. I'm not asking for a script, I'm asking for direction so I can write my own script. Any ideas out there? Thanks in advance, and if I fail miserably, and you have such a script, I'm not beneath begging. In fact, after struggling to hell and back, you can expect begging. _aleph_ Meds. AutoBert
The tickets are saved in Files or in a DB?
InunoTaishou
If this is some online software then you could use the IE UDF to load the webpage and monitor when an item has changed.
aleph01
Tickets are in a database. Staff input through a web interface, I use the technician client, non-web. I may look into opening the web interface and letting my monitor key on that, if I can get a grasp on the IE UDF (I haven't looked at it yet.) Thanks for the idea. AutoBert, you have an idea for attacking this from the database side? Meds. They're not just for breakfast anymore.
kylomas
Does the "technician client" let you read the set of "open" tickets? Forum Rules Procedure for posting code "I like pigs. There UDF's in this forum for nearly every DB (afair a MySQL.udf from @progandy) so first you habe to check if you can connecting to the DB and querying.
