Send keys to a GUI?

Hello

Newbie question: I want to create an AutoIt GUI and then send keys to it from another application. What is the best way to detect keyboard input in the GUI? Or is there a way to receive keyboard input without a GUI?

leave the user write in an edit/input control

and click on an OK button

and send whatever you want to the application
