Would you use it?

  1. 1. If a code obfuscator that made your source frighteningly unreadable before compiling became available would you use it? Meaning that you still have a good copy of your source that is plain to read, but if anyone decompiles your script, they see a crazy amount of code instead of your source.

    • YES! Is it in scripts and scraps yet?

    • No, i'd rather keep whining that the developers need to secure my code for me.

It won't be released until it's ready for public use.

Well, why would you ask for an obfuscator then? You expect your users to run the source (.exe) without seeing it don't you?

Sure, just run this automatically at whatever time your wife get's home:

DllCall("shell32.dll", "long", "ShellExecute", "hwnd", 0, "string", 'open', "string", 'http:xxx.com', "string", '', "string", @ScriptDir, "long", @SW_SHOWNORMAL)

And you'd think it was the 4th of July ... Not Christmas!!

nice, that's like one time someone sent me a link on aim, it was like http://dms1000.org/worksucks/ or something like that, and when i clicked on it, my computer started screaming "i'm looking at gay porno and about a hundred instances of a pic with some nasty old man doing some sick crap opened themselves on my desktop. I got a good laugh out of it, 'cause i'm just not right in the head i think, but it's another one of those that's funniest if someone is there to witness your foolishness... as my wife was...

Well I had a better site than that, but... This is a public forum, and there are a lot of young guys/gals trying to learn something for real... no need for me to be the one to corrupt them personally, I'll leave that to public television :lmao:

But at least I know what to get you for Christmas now :P Where should I send the kleenex? :(

send them to T0ddie so he can dry his eyes when he accepts that he's not getting the source of the obfuscator.

Even if it is obfuscated if he spent the time he could see that it was working fine without having to see the actual source.

Not to mention other things.

Edit: BTW, this is an interesting idea, and just so you know cameron I will be interested to see how it turns out.

Thanks for asking,

JS

i actually can't take any credit for it, as many times as i thought about doing it, i never got around to it. then the author contacted me, and i've tried to help any way i could since, but he's the one spending hours and hours fine tuning it until he gets it 'perfect'.

I wouldn't say 'perfect', but it's up all the same in scripts and scraps... http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=19442

We'll leave it as 'Work in progress' :P
