Hello,

I have used the extra info program in the past, but lately I need to grab a color on the screen too, but have some trouble doing this...
I think there might be a bug? When I put the mouse onto a red color (255,0,0) in Paint, it gives me a 100% white color (ff,ff,ff)..
I use the magnifyer too which also shows the white.. BUT I place the mouse exactly on the red color...
This can be a bug? .... See a screendump here too (I placed the mouse on red color, even though mouse pointer is not in screendump)

Then why does it say color 0xFFFFFF in the mouse tab ??

I say it's an error.. The magnifyer is off too - not showing what the mouse point is at...

If time is too limited then please don't answer with too fast responds

it's looking at the mspaint app. not the color. you can say it's an error all you like. i'm done.

I'm not a newbie... There's an error... SO if somebody cares... Here it is documented

Again... Just to show... Here very much off to where it should have shown... Here's prove it shows the color from a part of the line from the black I painted

If your DPI setting is higher than 100% then you will get the wrong readings, try it at 100% DPI and see if it reads correctly.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Ok Im sorry I started out bad here, but I also met some answers which seemed not correct...
Ofc The Au3Info can pick color as value which is what I intended for using some pixel search,
but that is a totally other discussion... Here I just want to make clear what I say, an error or not,
I need to get it correct... I can't make it correct with choosing screen/window/client in options...

What I say is the mouse point dosen't show the color of where it is placed...
See here the first image mouse is located on the red, but the Info program says (ffffff) which is white
The second image it shows the red (ff0000) which is the red BUT the mouse location is not on the red paintings...
(I by luck located the red off to the point where it should have been)...

SO if not a bug, then what? (please note I tested the screen/window/client option too)

Did you check the DPI setting?

Not sure what u mean man, in windows? or in Au3Info - I can't find it?

The term DPI (Dots Per Inch) is usually used for printed photos/graphics and used in regards to printing, not on screen

It looks like au3info indeed isn't dpi aware, which can be changed by modifying the manifest. I have made a test version available, as stated in the bug report, which has an updated manifest to make it DPI aware.
Let us know whether this indeed fixes it for you as I know there are some changes with the DPI settings with the upcoming new version of Win10?
