Hello,

I am new to AutoIt but have an obsession about an idea I cannot manage in Rainmeter standard scripts.

I am hoping to develop a dll to navigate and select for active use, speaker configurations, such as; mono, stereo, quadrophonic, 5.1, 7.1. These happen to be what my system is capable of.

This idea sprang from playing mp4 or avi that have what seems to be a variety of sound embedded in them, so to play them, I have to every time, go to RealTek sound manager and switch speaker configs manually.

So to speed up that multiple hunt and peck, click, click, etc, etc process, the prosepctive dll would be to have a Rainmeter plugin to allow a parent measure to provide a child measure with the option to point to a speaker config or to even select through each one by the prospective enduser (me essentially unless this gains any traction).

So for the beginner, what am I in store for looking forward?

I have general programming understanding, but it is not exhaustive in any way...

Thanks, for any tips or ideas, or even a point to something similar that I can tinker with.

Cheers,

CS

Ok, looking into things i see that AutoIt can incorporate dll not compile one.

the good thing is an exe may not appear as invisible as a dll but it is just as effective since Rainmeter can execute executables. [see what I did ther ;P]

So without reforming my question - an exe is great stuff - so, I am reaffirming my interest in the form of an edited post above.
